Bissel gray at the moment ... is probably due to a construction site situation ...
Looks really cruel in my opinion could look better and renew a bit
The waiting room has no heater and it is super cold for the passengers at night! The music jukebox during the Christmas time is so weird and not nice. It is somewhat messy and the some staffs are not sure the way/directions. You need to be careful of your belongings. The wc here is not free, which is unbelievable. The tourist information center (Reisezentrum) has move to the left side beside Gleis 1 (platform 1), need to follow the blue line/label on the floor. Der Warteraum am Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof bietet keine Heizung an, es ist zu kalt in der Nacht! Die Musik (Adventskalender) dort ist merkwürdig.
Stuttgart HBf will get a better ranking, when it is not a construction site anymore. In wintertime it is not the warmest place to be. Fortunately nothing changed with Corona lockdown, because everything has already been closed down, due to the construction (sarcasm).
Complete construction site due to Corona swept empty, somehow everything strange
The art gallery is really worth seeing and almost lets you overlook the delays due to the construction site. From the outside, the station has become a real landmark of Stuttgart and luckily we didn't tear it down at the new station.
The old station concourse is pretty empty but nicely decorated for Christmas. The walls apparently serve as an exhibition space for modern painting.
We haven't been there for collection in a long time. Parking worked out fine.
Stuttgart is a huge challenge for everyone, for the railways and of course the travelers who travel here. I'm really looking forward to the completion of the train station, which is good for Stuttgart and of course for all rail travelers, this is how the future of rail traffic begins, but also the new line in Ulm Stuttgart and its surroundings become like traveling by train Better will take a while but I'm looking forward to my first ride on this route.
Another 40min delay, it's unbelievable that the railways seem to have more and more delays despite government subsidies. Flixbus should get state subsidies!
Trains and buses keep going to different places. You always get further or away quickly and you never have to wait long. Sometimes the station is quite full, but the spacious area makes up for it. If you still have a longer waiting time, you can spend the time at and in shops in and near the train station (most of the shops in the train station are closed during the pandemic)
Do it, I would say. A huge construction site WANSINN. So far it is not nice but the directions to the tracks are obvious. There are several opportunities to buy snacks and a good morning coffee.
Eerily ugly beautiful mega construction site with inspiring graffiti and good information and pictures of the construction progress. It's great that you can virtually walk across the construction site ?
Unfortunately, I have to say that in general the staff at the train station is not really nice. I was very annoyed today and couldn't really complain anywhere. Didn't get any help either. It's good that I'm rarely in Stuttgart.
main train station
Impressive construction site and at the same time a highly interesting, future-proof major project. Certainly an architectural masterpiece when completed. We'll be back when the station is ready :-)
The station is currently being rebuilt. The station concourse has been transformed into a huge “art gallery”. Great initiative!
Loved this station
Apart from the super nice grafittis, the Stuttgart main station has developed into a real dirty place. You can't just push it onto the S21 construction site. Hope that everything will improve after S21 and a new OB.
Like the first three times, the train is great in all respects, but this time I'm disgruntled. Although the conductor checks whether someone has the mask on or only the mouth is covered and a lady has not worn any covering at all when making calls, I see it as a sad version of the discipline of the people themselves or the inspector. He can't be everywhere but when he makes his round at least make people aware of the fact that we should - must - protect ourselves and other people.
Very nice train station the old building is very nice. Unfortunately, part of it was torn down in favor of S21. The station concourse is currently being completely renovated. The whole station is a big construction site and you have to wait and see how the new station will end up.
Looks funny now in the construction phase you have to wait until the project is over. Until then you should wait but I hope and wish for Stuttgart that it will be worthwhile.
It looks bad because of the Stuttgart 21.
BW stop, really not a beautiful country. BW isn't known for beautiful train stations either, and Stuttgart is no exception. If you want to have a drink to continue your journey, you should ignore the db servicestore and switch to the nearby kiosk (see photos). Here the prices are actually half (beer 2.49: 1.39).
Nice station
Nice
Somehow dark and I find it dangerous.. But some police is around
Big and beautiful Stuttgart
Stuttgart’s main train station, Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof/Hbf is currently being transformed in a massive construction project, Stuttgart 21. Stuttgart Hbf is currently a terminal station, but on completion the long distance ICE and IC trains to/from Stuttgart will use new underground platforms/gleis - meaning that long distance trains passing through the city will no longer have to reverse direction. The new underground platforms/tracks will also be linked to the Stuttgart-Ulm high speed line that is currently also under construction. Disruption to passengers using Stuttgart Hbf during the construction work is being minimised, but the tracks/gleis that the long distance trains depart from, have been moved back from the main concourse, so allow additional time to catch a train. Due to the building work Stuttgart Hbf is currently a station of two parts. (1) The main station building still houses the ticket hall, left luggage lockers and the access to the S-Bahn and U-Bahn trains and the Reisezentrum reservation desk. (2) A temporary, secondary concourse has been constructed by the gleis/platforms/tracks, that the long distance and Regio trains depart from. Allow a minimum of 5 mins to walk from the temporary concourse to the facilities in the main station building. However, if you will be connecting between these trains, you can wait on the new temporary concourse. If you want to use the left luggage lockers, don’t follow the signs pointing towards them on the main concourse. Instead take the escalators one level down towards the U-Bahn station, the left luggage lockers will then be to the right. Follow the signs on the main concourse and you will have to carry your bag(s) down a flight of stairs.
For comfortable travel anywhere in Germany. It has one the finest and comfortable trains and traveling through it while you are in Germany is something you can say is the best thing over there and I highly prefer it to avail such service rather than taking taxis and other private transportation over there.
The construction makes it a bit chaotic. Going from the ICE platforms to S bahns can be confusing for new travelers. Especially if one arrived by the last few compartments, it's going to take awhile to switch trains. Account for 15 min walk.
Good
Under heavy reconstruction
One of the best Hauptbahnof.
Easy, easy, easy. Stuttgart Central Bahnhof has easy train access.
Big but dirty
Stuttgart central railway station is a magnificent piece of early 20c architecture. Fortunately this has been recognised and the existing station will be preserved in its entirety - though extended - as part of the major redevelopment which will transform what is currently a terminus into a through station for the new high speed line connecting Paris and Vienna. Currently the station is surrounded by a gigantic hole (2019).
Right now (201 it's old, dirty and a mess. However, when the reconstruction is done, it's quite likely to become awesome!
Beautiful
Clean.. and easy to find train. Services on station are quite good.
The station is under construction. It seems to be a wonderful station after construction. The difficulty is that the number of chairs in the waiting room is small. There is nothing to fill your stomach while waiting for the train, but you will not sit and eat. Starbucks is also a stand alone drink. Everything is in a stand state. There are two types of toilets, one where only coins can be used and one where banknotes can be used. If the toilet ticket machine uses bills, the bills cannot be used unless the ticket machine has change. Therefore, you cannot use the toilet, so it is recommended that you prepare money if possible. Stuttgart is like a Porsche factory, a factory of Mercedes-Benz, Daimler and Robert Bosch. I felt that there were many Mercedes-Benz cars.
Too ugly to be true for a major city. Please improve it.
Horrible station, absolutely freezing in the winter. Because of the construction all shops within the station have closed, and cause it's an old building it's giant with no way to heat up. Waiting room door was broken so no heat in there either. Pray you don't get stuck here.
Whole station is currently under reconstruction and there is large hole in the middle. It is easy to orientate but I was lacking usual order used to in Germany and there were some people living there as homeless apparently.
It's dying. Almost dead.
It is in the heart of city. Beautiful located. Very busy railway station. You can get any ways of transportation, like u-bahn,trains etc. When you go out ,there is a big place of markets.there are lots of shopping malls where you can buy. The market is very big. Specifically the location is so beautiful...in the Evening time ,you can enjoy more...you heard the music . Love it
Arrived from Paris via the ICE high-speed train. The station is under construction (October 2019) but had colored lines on the ground that directed me and my family to the different service areas of the station without confusion. Pay bathrooms were clean, although I had to wait for an open stall.
It's good
Cental station is convenient, however as a tourist u need to be extra careful, was approached by a scammer pretending to ask about train schedule, he wanted to see my phone to check the timetable, please be careful and extra alarm on anyone approaching you and asking just about anything..dont be too nice with a person u just meet..if he runs away with your phone, that is already a good catch
Horrible train station: no trolleys for heavy luggage, in the lockers u pay only with coins, no elevators functioning. No cafeterias inside, i had to go outside to find a place to sit. Third world
